Offender Reintegration Scale

By John Liptak, Ed.D.
This new self-scoring and self-interpreting instrument measures potential barriers to re-entry success for ex-offenders in five major categories: Basic Needs, Job Search, Family Concerns, Life Skills, and Career Development.
Ideal paper-and-pencil instrument for quickly screening offenders before release and for targeting rehabilitation and training efforts that best overcome barriers to re-entry and re-integration.
Used as a pre-release and/or post release assessment tool, it's ideal for developing action plans for overcoming specific barriers.
Users rate their level of skill on 96 general work tasks, representing the most widely used transferable skills in the world. They then score those items into 8 scales representative of the most common transferable skills sets: Analytical, Numerical, Interpersonal, Organizational, Physical, Informational, Communicative, and Creative.
Based on this information, users explore jobs related to their strongest transferable skills. Takes 20-25 minutes to complete and score. Includes an Administrator's Guide with instructions and information for using the assessment in a variety of correctional and post-correctional situations, from offender registration to post-release vocational counseling and training.
