Co-occurring Disorders Program

Co-occurring Disorders Program (CDP): Integrated Services for Substance Use and Mental Health Problems

This new program, developed by faculty from the Dartmouth Medical School, replaces our old bestselling DVD/pamphlet/workbook Co-occurring Disorders Series (still available for $1,589.00).
Research shows the most effective treatment for co-occurring disorders is an integrated approach that simultaneously treats both substance use and mental health disorders. This new evidence-based program was developed by nationwide leaders in the research and treatment of co-occurring disorders at the Dartmouth Psychiatric Research Center.
This pioneering Center developed and tested the Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT) model, an established evidence-based practice designed for people with severe mental health disorders. The Co-occurring Disorders Program (CDP) adapts the IDDT model for patients with non-severe mental health disorders.
CDP is the first comprehensive, manualized educational system that uses state-of-the-art adult learning design principles in multiple formats. CDP gives both treatment and mental health professionals the tools they need to provide integrated treatment of co-occurring substance use and non-severe mental health disorders.
The complete program consists of five curricula packaged in 3-ring binders, an 83-minute DVD, and the Clinical Administrator's Guidebook on CD-ROM.
Many of the curricula come with a clinician's guide, reproducible patient handouts, and clinician's forms. Used together, the components form a comprehensive, evidence-based program for treating co-occurring disorders.
